Little animals

Finally, here is my favourite image from fashion month, from the Sartorialist (where else?)

February was a terrible month for my blog, but I now officially have internet and some semblance of a life, so I'm ready to get things back on track!

LFW: Erdem

My surprise favourite collection this season was, without a doubt, Erdem. I barely wear prints or florals, but I find these vibrant patterns really appealing. Where everyone else has embraced trampy, ugly layers, it's really refreshing to see these chic, structured, girlish dresses. And I'm shocked to be typing this, but the paint-splashed shoes are absolutely beautiful.

LFW: Luella

The Luella show was just SO GOOD! Despite having spent all weekend hand delivering invitations to far flung parts of north London, despite arriving at the Covent Garden flower market at 7am on Monday morning to try to manhandle scary Italian magazine editors to their assigned seats, despite wanting to break down and weep from exhaustion several times, seeing these clothes make their debut made it all worthwhile. I am literally so excited that I get to be around these clothes all day (and maybe my kind boyfriend will feel sorry for me and buy me a nice birthday/easter/weekend present at some point in the near future...) I am 100% obsessed with the last tweed coat... and don't even get me started on the accessories!!

LFW: Topshop Unique

When the S/S '09 Topshop Unique (which I drooled over in September) came in a couple of weeks ago I went on a mad buying spree, and am currently in the process of taking everything back because of the disappointing execution. (By the way if anyone wants the Love-o-meter vest dress or denim dress leave me a quick comment because I'm returning them in a couple of days). I'm really interested to see how these clothes translate into store, because it's definitely the least commercial/wearable collection yet. I just hope they up the quality control because I'm always ready to flex my discount card.

NYFW: Marc by Marc Jacobs

I am definitely an autumn/winter sort of girl, so I was definitely looking forward to seeing the new shows. However, I've been really quite disappointed with some of my favourite designers (namely Charles Anastase and Christopher Kane). In general I haven't seen much of the synthesis of the S/S shows last year- maybe I'm just tired but a lot of the shows just look really thrown together and messy, or 'punk'- which I am just not excited about at all. That said, there are still some that I'm kind of obsessed with, and I will start with the top dog- Marc Jacobs. I think this goes without saying but if Marc asked me to dress like a tramp I'd do it without question.
