I recently found a black cropped jacket with a shearling collar when I was helping my flatmate spring clean her room, that I had to borrow immediately. It's just got warm enough in London to ditch the warm full length coat, and I'm fully taking advantage of the weather with some messy layering, just like this wicked girl. Coincidentally the aforementioned flatmate is in the habit of wearing her cardigan as a scarf when she's cold, which would create the same great wtf? effect as above.

Love

This is an outfit that I literally would never (could never) put together. But of all the fashion week street style coverage this is probably the most interesting look I have seen.

Winter

It has been snowing here in London on and off for about a month. The whole city/country has gone mental, but since I can walk to work and never need to get public transport, my biggest problem is trying to stay warm. So far I have been utilizing layers, but three cardigans and two pairs of tights under my jeans every day is neither exciting nor attractive. I am also doomed to wear my squeaky All Saints military boots every single day, and can't even remember wearing the impractical, holey, peep toe sandals that seem to make up 80% of my shoe selection. Boo. Facehunter was kind enough to show me this photo of a girl looking lovely whilst keeping warm (in Scandinavia, where it is roughly 10 degrees colder than it is here). If she can do it, so can I.

Two quick street style hits from Facehunter. I am going to try to make some of those dip dye tights at the weekend with some white tights generously donated by Amy Petal. The first girl's hair and layering skills are quite impressive too. I LOVE the square shouldered, short sleeved blazer proportions on the second girl, along with her jolie laide hair cut.

Some awesome shots have been coming out of fashion month on the blogs. I LOVE her dress.

Draped

I've just bought myself a heavy jersey draped batwing jacket from Cos that looks rather like this one. It's amazing but I am still recovering from travelling home from work in this shockingly awful London weather. Brrrrrr. Lovely evening in planned with the fleetingly available boyfriend, and a day off tomorrow. Hooray!

Taylor Tomasi's feet courtesy of Jak & Jil. Without exaggeration, I probably would kill for a pair of these boots.

Daily Style

This is Misha from Dusty Dress, one of my new favourite blogs. As someone whose clothes are 80% black, I'm always interested when people wear one dark colour in several textures. Additionally, Misha makes her own clothes, and even sells some on Etsy. Needless to say I will be stalking that shop regularly.

Daily Style

This is Gala, her blog is over here. My friend Amee and I decided that she has the ultimate rich girl hair. I've been growing mine for a year and it's still only half this length. Hopefully by the time it gets warm enough to put together my own version of this excellent outfit my hair will be doing a better impression of hers as well!

Daily Style

I do sometimes wish that I could carry off a full length fur, but I know I'll probably have to wait a few decades until my attitude (and bank account) can oblige.

Daily Style

A couple of days ago I was alerted to LOOKBOOK.nu, the best street style website I have ever seen. I must have looked at 100 photos, and there wasn't a single dud. It has inspired me to start documenting my own outfits in a more composed way.
Thanks for inviting me Yuri!
P.S. I can't remember exactly who this outfit belongs to, apologies.

Daily Style: Opposites

Beautiful tailoring vs deconstructed layers.
I can never decide which is more me; there is a fine balance between flattering to the figure (which requires some concept of fit) and comfortable (oversized and stretchy). Too structured and I usually end up with bruises, blisters and a shortness of breath. I once insisted on wearing a new pair of Chloe platforms to lunch and they were so heavy I fell on my ankle and almost brought down a wall of pickle. However, too baggy and layered can easily sink into slobbishness.

I think this is the most amazing layering I have ever seen.

And with this in mind, I cannot wait for the Comme des Garcons for H&M line.

One more thing from Paris that made me laugh...
